The 12.7x108mm bullet is a heavy machine gun cartridge that was developed in the Soviet Union during World War II. It is commonly used in anti-aircraft and anti-vehicle applications, as well as for general-purpose machine guns. The bullet weighs approximately 47 grams (730 grains) and is fired at a muzzle velocity of around 850 meters per second (2,800 feet per second). It has a maximum effective range of roughly 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) and can penetrate armor up to 30mm thick at close range. The 12.7x108mm cartridge is still in use by many militaries today, including Russia, China, and Iran.
